Brow Lift Surgery

If you are suffering from forehead wrinkles, frown lines or drooping eyebrows, then an eye brow lift may be suitable for you. Also referred to a forehead lift, this procedure can help tighten sagging skin on your face and get rid of creases and lines much longer than BOTOX® Cosmetic injections.

Brow Lift Surgery: Are You A Candidate?

Nearly any patient who is experiencing descended, sagging brows, or static forehead wrinkles can see benefits from a brow lift procedure. Men and women with deep horizontal creases across the forehead or "11s" which are vertical brow furrows, as well as those with heavy brows are typically the best candidates for a forehead lift.

However, if you have a particularly high hairline, inadequate upper eyelid skin or if you're prone to prominent results, a brow lift may not offer satisfying results. We will go over and help you evaluate all advantages and possible disadvantages of a brow lift operation prior to your procedure.

Your Brow Lift

A brow lift procedure can be done using one of two methods; either traditional or endoscopic. The traditional method involves a single incision that runs the length of the hairline at the top of the forehead, whereas the endoscopic method requires only a few small incisions along the hairline.

An endoscopic brow lift utilizes a tiny camera to view the muscular structures under the forehead skin of pulling the skin back to view them as is done with the traditional technique. Both brow lift techniques involve removing excess forehead skin, repositioning underlying tissues and relaxing forehead muscles that cause wrinkles.

Results and Aftercare for Brow Lift Surgery

After your brow lift, expect to experience some swelling, bruising, and numbness. These temporary effects usually only last 1-2 weeks, however the numbness may last longer. It is best to abstain from strenuous activity for 3-4 weeks and after 1-2 weeks, most patients are able to return to work.

Endoscopic brow lift surgery results in a shorter recovery period and less scarring than a traditional brow lift, however with both techniques surgery scars can be hidden with hair and are very discreet.
